Cardboard Jeep

Update-I've had alot of people ask for more info on the jeep. I hope these pictures and measurements help

This is one of my favorite things to do if I have a lot of extra time. There are endless possibilitys with cardboard. This is the Safari Jeep/ Puppet theatre for a class I teach at my church. The back is open so the kids can play in it.

  2. Jessica,
I do not have any for sale, but they are relatively easy to make. Just some boxes, duct tape and paint. I believe that there are some instructions w/ the dinosaur post in the archive. You could make one for next to nothing. Let me know if there is anything I could help you with.

  3. I love the jeep, I saw it on thevbs.place and would love to make one for our Baobab Blast VBS program.
    How do you make it?
It appears your box is a very large box, the biggest I have is a washer and dryer box, will these work.
Is there anyway I can get directions from you.
    Blessings,
    Patty (Queenmom6@verizon.net)

  4. Thanks Patty, the kids loved this jeep, actually its still in the church being played with, holds up well. You have me stumped, I'm not sure how to give you directions for this (I'm more of a visual learner) I think that a washer/dryer box would work great, the wheels are just extra cardboard (pizza box) cut in circles and hot glued on for depth. The car itself is all one piece and I just cut away what didnt look like a car ;) the hood is part of the box folded down and I reinforced the winshield with strips from the sides of the pizza box. I feel like I have probably confused you. good luck, oh and I almost forgot, LOTS of hot glue, and I used leftover house paints.

  5. I love the jeep and want to make one...can you tell me the measurements of the jeep you made? I was afraid that a washer box wouldn't be large enough. I picked up a refrigerator box, knowing I wouldn't need the entire length, but now am not sure I'll have enough height.

  6. The jeep is at the church so I will have to get some measurements. I do know that it is less than 36 inches tall, probably more like 30 inch. the kids had to crouch to get in, but they didnt seem to mind. I used it for 3-4 year olds so if your target is older kids you might want to go bigger. I'll try to take some pictures when I get the measurements. I'd love to see a picture of your jeep when its done :)

  7. Thank you so much for getting the measurements for me. I couldn't tell, did the jeep have a roof, or was it open on the top? I will try to post pictures when it's done too. Thanks for all the help.
