Finally, after many years of making tags

off the cuff, in the moment, at the last minute......

I decided to eradicate the problem!

I designed what I wanted, printed them off in mass,

in all sorts of colors of cardstock. (spent many hours

watching tv and cutting) and took scraps of colored

paper and made alot of pre-punched designs.

Now all I have to do is pick the color, add some 

cute embelishments and whew, NO more last 

minute designing. YAY

Freezer Paper Stencil

I can check one more thing off my to do list. This is my first try at freezer paper stencils

1. draw a picture of what you want on the dull side of the freezer paper, and cut out with a razor knife.

2. Iron onto fabric, shiney side down.

3. Paint! I used spray paint and I really like the results. But I would think that fabric or acrylic paint would be just as nice.

4. Sew :) I only waited about 5 mins for my paint to dry (because I am impatient) before I started sewing.

The spray paint I used was actually a rusty brown primer color but looks pink on the fabric ( how lucky for me) so its always a good idea to do a test swatch. I believe this was enough fun that I will have to make some more.

Piniata

Who says piniata's are just for little kids? I made this Logo piniata for my daughters Grad Party and filled it with candy bars and rolled up dollar bills. To make it interesting I used a fair amount of duct tape to "challenge" them. It is a cardboard frame, hot glued,taped and finally topped with crepe paper. They had to resort to brute force and a baseball bat to finally crack it open.

Handprint Christmas Tree

This is fabulous project I did with some kids at our church. I did not come up with the idea, I copied it from someone else. A friend and I traced around lots of little hands, and cut them out in two differant colors of construction paper(cut multiple layers of each hand at a time). I believe it took around 200 handprints to make this tree.
I used a mixture of elmers glue and shaving cream (around half/half of each) to make the snow that the kids painted on thier handprints. We glued pinecones on and also wrote down the kids quotes about what they would give baby Jesus for Christmas. The possibilities are endless as to what you could do with this.

Paper and wire pot tag

I was looking for a way to fancy up some flower pots that I had some kids make for Mother's day. I made a tag from papers that matched the kids artwork and held it in place with a wire swirly. I used the same Idea on my teacher thank you notes. I don't have any idea what gage the wire is, I found it laying around my husbands garage.

Mini Scrapbook

Here is a Mini Scrapbook made from 4 square sheets of paper and folds up accordion style. I photo copied some of my husbands baby pictures that were starting to deteriorate. I put up the originals and made this little book so that the next generation can enjoy them !

Thank you notes

I made these thank you notes for a teacher appreciation dinner. We had students and parents contribute thank you notes, and printed them all out on card stock and made these little cards to fit in the homemade envelope. I made a wire clasp to hold the envelope closed and it added a little pizazz. The envelopes were placed at the teachers place settings at the dinner, it was a big hit!
